Interview

After months of sending resumes and applications I finally have an interview next month. And it is for a position I really want. I don't want to jinx it so I am not going to say what it is until after the interview. I just am so excited I feel like screaming it to the world.

Home

We have been home a for a few days. We have been relaxing after the long drive. It was good seeing everyone, but it is always nice to come home. On the way we visited several National Parks, the last one being the Grand Canyon. It is hard to explain how beautiful it is. Until you see how spectacular it really is you cannot believe it.

Monument Valley in Arizona

We spent the night in the tent at a park called Goulding's Monument Valley Camp Park. It was one of the most beautiful park we have seen. It is in the Navajo Indian reservation surrounded by some of the spectacular cliffs and mountains we have ever seen. I would recommend the trip and park.

Bandelier

We went to see the cave dwellings at Bandelier National Park in New Mexico. This was on Wednesday. We were so tired from all the climbing we went back to the room and crashed. It was unbelievable.

New Mexico Petroglyphs

We just walked in to see the petroglyphs outside Albuquerque NM. It was worth the walk. I can't post all the pictures, the few will be awesome.

New Orleans

Yes it is wet, but it is awesome anyway. There was a street jazz band performing. We stopped to get gumbo at the Famous Gumbo Pot. New Orleans wet or dry is definitely something to see.

Saying goodbye is hard to do

We left yesterday for our journey home. We said goodbye to Scott and Robbie. Mom, we said goodbye to on Saturday as we left for Scott's. Today we are taking a detour to New Orleans to see the French Quarter. It is raining so hard we may not be able to see it. We will see.

Day 7 & 8 In Florida

Didn't post yesterday, service was sketchy and it rain or monsooned a the way to Rob's. It is beautiful today, but we are under a tornado watch until 2 pm. Fun!

Day 6

We will be in Shreveport LA in about 2 hours. It seems like it took forever.

Day 5 On the Road Again

Finally we are on the road the following pix was taken through the windshield.

Day 4 still in Holbrook

The car is still in the shop. At least it has been moving. It goes up, it goes down. Can't wait for it to go East.

Day 3 Historic Route 66

We walked down to Safeway's and while we were there we took some pictures of the Wigwam Motel. It was used in the movie Cars. There were some old cars parked out front that looked like the cars from the movie and a tow truck that could have been Tow-mater!

Day 3 Holbrook, Arizona

Well the car is in the shop and we are going to have to have the air compressor replaced. We could try to make it to the next town, but we might not make it. So one more night here and we are on our way.

Day 2 Hoover Dam

Made a stop at the dam so RJ could see it. Everything cost to look except outside. They have this new visitor center and you can't get in without a ticket. So we left and on the way put out air conditioner went out. It is going to be a warm trip to Florida.

Day 2 Rick's Restoration

Couldn't leave until seeing Rick's Restoration. It's more a museum then shop. The shop must be out back.

Day 2 Pawn Stars

Got up just before 8 am, checked out and headed for breakfast. Before we left Vegas we took a trip down to see Gold & Silver Pawn Shop used in Pawn Stars. Boy was it packed, but worth the stop. We LOVE the show.

Day 1 of trip

We are officially on the road. We are filling the tank and going to get on the way. Florida here we come.

Father's Day

Today has been just another day with a twist. We have been packing for our trip to Florida. We are leaving tomorrow and will hopefully be there on Thursday. We have most everything packed to go and much of it in the car. Now we are relaxing before we hit the road tomorrow. Wish us luck!
